SYNC button behind secret Wii flap?
GoNintendo.com received an e-mail from a person inside Nintendo who wishes to remain anonymous.
working at the nintendo booth this year at e3, after close on thelast day, everyone was involved in the tearing down and boxing up of everything that was to be sent back to corporate (TVs, systems, et al).
once the systems were removed from their plexiglass houses, they were all laying there awaiting the box and proper packing materials.
i flipped a lid down to see the SD card slot and SYNC button. When all the guessing as to what was under the flap was going on, I kept quiet because I didn’t want to spoil the fun.
If Reggie can spoil the fun, i can add this detail.
Yesterday Reggie Fils-Aime revealed that there is a SD card reader behind the secret flap. He also said that it is possible that Wii will support more than one storage medium.

I can only imagine its like the sync button on the 360, allowing different wireless controllers and such to attach themselves to the system. They use bluetooth, so it would make sense that they need to be tethered to the system as to not inferfere with other devices

Surely then sync simply synchronises data on the sdcard and the Wii’s own internal memory storage, allowing users to quickly copy all save game info to an SDCard and drag it over to a mates. Me hazards a guess.

1. (as wibble said) to transfer game saves to a mates.
