The cooking system added in the latest installment of the game, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, is no exception. This feature allows players to create delicious recipes for their islanders to enjoy and even enjoy themselves.
Cooking Recipes
Cooking in New Horizons is easy to get the hang of. Players start off with just a few recipes like fruit smoothies, popcorn, and grilled fish. As they progress through the game, they can unlock new recipes from special villagers or learn them from Timmy and Tommy at Nook’s Cranny. Recipes range from basic dishes like fruit salad or egg tart to more complicated concoctions like curry rice or ramen. There are over 100 recipes in total, ensuring that players have plenty of options when it comes time to feed their island population.
Gathering Ingredients
Ingredients are required for each recipe, but luckily they are not too difficult to come by. Many items can be found growing around your island such as apples, pears, oranges and other fruits as well as mushrooms and flowers. Other ingredients may require you to go scavenging around nearby islands or purchase them from Nook’s Cranny depending on what you need. You can even find some rare ingredients like truffles if you do some extra digging.
Cooking Benefits
Once players have gathered all of their ingredients it’s time to get cooking! Not only does cooking satisfy your islanders’ hunger cravings but completing recipes also rewards you with delicious food that can give your characters stat boosts like improved strength or intelligence after eating them.
