
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is an action role-playing game developed by Square Enix for the Nintendo Switch, and is a spin-off of the popular Final Fantasy VII series. Players take control of Zack Fair, a mercenary who has been given the job of rescuing Cloud Strife, one of the main characters from the original game. Along the way, Zack will find himself facing off against powerful enemies in exciting battles, while also uncovering a mysterious conspiracy that threatens to alter the course of history.
Gameplay
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion’s gameplay is based on ‘Active Time Battle’ (ATB) system which allows players to take turns in battle. Each battle consists of three rounds where players can choose from Attack and Magic commands as well as special Abilities that use MP points. During these battles players are able to strengthen their character by equipping various weapons and items or can summon powerful creatures to aid them in battle. The ability to customize Zack’s equipment and abilities allows for an engaging experience with dynamic but challenging combat.
Graphics & Sound
The graphics for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion are vibrant and detailed. The characters are rendered in 3D models with realistic faces textures and highly expressive animations resulting in more engaging gameplay than ever before. The environments are also beautiful with dynamic lighting effects creating genuinely atmospheric locations like Midgar City or Mt Nibel. As this is an action role-playing game there are plenty of battles which have extravagant special effects giving them an even more epic feel befitting this grand story.
The music score perfectly fits its world offering some really memorable tracks like “The Price of Freedom” which serves as the main theme or “In Search Of Hope” when confronting Sephiroth
