Nintendo Switch’s Metal Max Xeno Reborn is an intense, post-apocalyptic RPG that puts players into a war-torn world of desperate struggle. Developed by Kadokawa Games Ltd and released by NIS America, Inc. in 2021, this turn-based strategy game is set in a far future where giant beasts roam the Earth and technological supremacy reigns supreme. Designed as an homage to classic RPG games of the late-90s, Metal Max Xeno Reborn offers a unique blend of strategic combat, vehicle customization and dark fantasy elements that comes together to create an engrossing adventure for anyone looking for a challenge.
Gameplay
Metal Max Xeno Reborn utilizes traditional turn-based RPG combat mechanics and blends them with strategic positioning and varied enemy types to create a challenging yet rewarding experience. Players will need to plan out their moves carefully in order to maximize their damage output while also keeping their own units safe from harm. The game also features vehicle customization which allows players to upgrade their tanks or other vehicles as they progress throughout the game as well as customizing weapons and armor for each unit.
The battle system consists of two phases: the Action Phase and the Results Phase. During the Action Phase, which is divided into 12 rounds, players can move their units around the battlefield while simultaneously selecting attack commands or special abilities to use against enemies. After all 12 rounds have passed, players can enter the Results Phase which determines whether they were victorious or defeated in battle.
