Pocky and Rocky Reshrined is an intense, fast-paced action platformer video game released for the Nintendo Switch in August of 2020. Players assume the roles of Pocky and Rocky, two anthropomorphic animals, as they blast their way through level after level of side-scrolling adventures. Developed by Natsume Inc., this game is an updated version of the classic NES title that was released in 1992. Story
In Pocky and Rocky Reshrined, players take control of either Pocky or Rocky as they battle against hordes of evil spirits in feudal Japan. As they progress through each stage, they must defeat enemy samurai warriors and ninjas before eventually facing off against a powerful boss. Along their journey, players must also collect coins to purchase power-ups that will help them overcome obstacles and defeat enemies. With five diverse stages to explore and a host of hidden secrets to uncover, this game is sure to keep gamers engaged for hours.
Gameplay
Pocky and Rocky Rehrined features classic side-scrolling action with various elements such as platforming and puzzle solving thrown in for good measure. The game can be played solo or cooperatively with up to four players simultaneously. Players can adjust the difficulty level from easy to hard which impacts checkpoints throughout the stages as well as item drops.
Controls are tight with responsive responses when attacking enemies or jumping for platforms. Both characters have access to a variety of weapons that increase in power throughout their journey such as rockets or shuriken stars that can be upgraded by collecting gold coins found within
