What are Heart Pieces?
Heart Pieces are collectible items found in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. When collected, they increase Link’s health meter by one heart container, giving him extra life points. When all eight are collected, Link will have double his original health bar. In addition to increasing Link’s health, collecting Heart Pieces also unlocks powerful rewards such as new weapons and items.
Link’s Awakening features a total of 15 heart pieces scattered across Koholint Island. Collecting these pieces is no easy feat as most require completing puzzles or mini-games in order to be obtained. Some require trading items with characters in certain locations while others need special events or companionship with other characters who will give you their piece in return for completing certain tasks.
