Luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer has announced two limited edition Mario Kart watches, one of which will cost a staggering USD25600. The two watches come in the style of Mario and Luigi and are sure to be an instant hit for Nintendo fans around the world. This new venture marks a unique collaboration between Tag Heuer, a long-time luxury watchmaker, and Nintendo, one of the world’s most beloved gaming companies.
Authentic Designs
The design elements of these limited edition watches are inspired by the Mario Kart video game series. In particular, Mario’s watch features his trusted red cap and a colorful strap inspired by his overalls. Meanwhile, Luigi’s watch is fitted with green accents to match his iconic green cap and blue overalls. While both models are made with stainless steel cases, Mario’s comes with a rubbery strap while Luigi’s features a leather strap to give them each their own unique look.
Tag Heuer has also released an Instagram video which showcases the intricacies of both designs. From the colorful accents on the straps to the ‘Start Your Engines’ message beneath the hour markers on the dials – these watches are packed full of charming details which pay homage to both Tag Heuer’s expertise in design as well as Nintendo’s legendary racing game.
Price & Availability
The limited edition watches will come in two versions; a regular size that costs USD2500 and an oversized version at USD25600. Both versions will be available for purchase from Tag Heuer’s website from December 2020 – just in time for holiday shopping! However, it’s worth noting that only 500 pieces have been produced globally so you may have to act fast if you want one for yourself or someone special.
