Unravel Two is a puzzle-platforming game that follows two brave Yarnys on their journey of friendship, trust, and adventure. Developed by Coldwood Interactive and published by Electronic Arts, the game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in 2018. It has since become popular among players due to its unique concept of environmental storytelling with endearing characters and an interactive cooperative mode.
Puzzles
In Unravel Two’s single player or two-player cooperative modes, players control two Yarnys – small creatures made from yarn that are connected by a single thread. Players must use their individual yarn-based abilities to solve puzzles in order to complete levels. Puzzles consist of manipulating objects or using the environment in creative ways to help the Yarnys progress. With multiple paths to solve each level, players are encouraged to experiment and use their imagination. The difficulty of each puzzle increases as the player advances through the levels.
The game also features “Secret Doors” which can be unlocked by collecting specific objects throughout the level. Behind these doors lies bonus puzzles such as “out of this world” puzzles or doorways that lead to secret levels that contain extra collectibles or new challenges.
Gameplay
Unravel Two offers a unique experience where players must cooperate with one another in order to progress through levels together. Players need to work together in order for both Yarnys to move forward as they are attached together by a single thread.
