
Nintendo recently unveiled their official poster for the upcoming Super Mario Bros movie. The highly-anticipated film, which is scheduled to premiere on July 16th in North American theaters, has been generating a lot of buzz among the gaming community. Nintendo is hoping that this live-action adaptation of their beloved franchise will be a hit with both hardcore fans and newcomers alike.
Background
The original Super Mario Bros was released in 1985 as a sequel to the popular arcade game, Donkey Kong. Since then, the series has become one of the most iconic video game franchises in history and has spawned numerous sequels and spin-offs. In 1993, Nintendo announced a deal with Hollywood studio Hudson Pictures to produce a live-action film based on the game series. While production was completed and the film premiered in Japan, it was never officially released in North America.
Fast forward 27 years later and Nintendo is finally giving fans what they have been asking for – an official Super Mario Bros movie. With an all-star cast featuring actors such as Tom Hanks, John Leguizamo, Bob Hoskins, Christopher Lloyd, Dennis Hopper, and Samantha Mathis – this is sure to be one of the summer’s most anticipated releases.

It features characters such as Mario and Luigi taking center stage with Princess Peach watching over them from above while Bowser lurks in the shadows below.
