Since its launch in March 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has taken the gaming world by storm. This Nintendo Switch game has become an instant hit with gamers of all ages and for a good reason. In the game, players assume the role of a character living on a deserted island and are tasked with exploring and developing it. One exciting aspect of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is that you can catch rare fish like the Coelacanth. In this article we will look at where you can find Coelacanth, when you should be looking for them, and how to catch them.
Where To Find The Rare Coelacanth
The Coelacanth is one of the rarest fish in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and can be found lurking in the ocean waters around your island. They typically appear during rainstorms throughout December through March so keep an eye out for rainy days during those months if you want to increase your chances of catching one. The Coelacanth can also be found on other islands when traveling via Nook Miles Tickets or via island hopping with friends.
The name “Coelacanth” comes from Greek words meaning “hollow spine” which is fitting as these fish have ventral fins that make them look like they have no backbone at all! They are often referred to as living fossils because they were thought to have gone extinct more than 65 million years ago until a live specimen was caught off South Africa in 1938.
When To Catch The Rare Coelacanth
The best time to look for a Coelacanth is between 4pm – 9am during December through March as this is when they appear most frequently due to rainstorms on your island or another island that you may be visiting via Nook Miles Tickets or friend visits.</
