Metroid Dread is one of the most popular games in Nintendo’s long-running Metroid series. It follows Samus Aran as she travels to the planet SR388 to investigate a mysterious distress signal and explore its desolate terrain. As Samus progresses through her mission, she obtains new items and upgrades, such as the Gravity Suit. The Gravity Suit allows her to navigate hazardous conditions in SR388’s coldest areas and survive temperatures that would otherwise be fatal.
The Gravity Suit Location
The Gravity Suit can be found in Sector 4 of SR388. After defeating the area’s boss, it will become available for collection from a nearby capsule. The suit must then be equipped on Samus’ Power Suit to enable its special features.
Cold Areas
One of the main uses of the Gravity Suit is to enter cold areas that would otherwise be inaccessible to Samus without it. Thanks to its thermal protection capabilities, Samus can travel underwater for extended periods of time or venture underground in extreme temperatures without taking any damage from the cold. It also comes with a unique ability that lets her push forward against strong winds or icy currents.
Lava Environments
Another integral feature of the Gravity Suit is its ability to protect Samus from extreme heat environments such as lava pools and geysers. With this suit equipped, she can explore caves and volcanic regions without taking damage from the scorching temperatures inside them. She also gains access to powerful obstacles like lava flows which require her gravity beam energy blasts to pass through them safely.
